Inclusion rules tell Ecko whether an approved Story should be added automatically when a new Edition is created. They only control automatic inclusion. Users can still add or remove Stories manually in a specific Edition.
Inclusion rules
- One Edition only: use this for one-off news, messages or reminders. The Story is included in the next Edition and then stops being included automatically and moves to the Archive section.
- All Editions until…: use this for repeated notices that should stop after a known date. After selecting this option, be sure to select the Include until date below. The Story will continue to be included in Editions until that date, then it will move to the Archive section.
- All Editions until I archive it: use this for ongoing information that should continue appearing indefinitely. Ecko will continue to insert it into new Editions until you change the Inclusion rule.
- Archived: This story won’t be automatically included in any new Editions.
Regardless of the Inclusion rule, you can always add or remove any Stories from an Edition manually.
Dismissible Stories
When a Story has appeared in at least two Editions it becomes dismissible. A Dismiss button appears below the Story in Editions which readers can use to hide it. This allows readers to tailor Editions to make them feel more relevant to them by hiding information that they’ve already read and acknowledged.
If you want to prevent users from dismissing a recurring Story, turn the Dismissible toggle off in the Inclusion rule panel.
